First Grade
In first grade, students can look forward to strengthening many core skills. The Houghton-Mifflin reading program provides opportunities for students to explore the world of reading through printed books, listening CDs, and hands-on activities. The new Math Expressions curriculum provides differentiated instruction to help reach each learner. Math concepts are rehearsed in many different ways so students can feel confident and successful. Students also discover a greater calling by participating in school-wide service programs that assist people in the community or other parts of the world. In addition, students get the opportunity to participate in liturgical planning and leading Masses throughout the year.
