What is Scrip?

Scrip is a gift card program… a painless fundraiser.   Your purchase of gift cards earns a percentage for Holy Family School and a credit toward your Scrip commitment.  The percentage for each retailer varies and ranges from 1% to 24%. The average is 5%.  You purchase a gift card – and Holy Family receives a percentage back from the vendor for each gift card you purchase!

Scrip offers the ultimate flexibility.  It only takes minutes a week to think about where you’ll be shopping and spending money in the days ahead, and those few minutes can add up to thousands for you and Holy Family School!  Every family is already spending money somewhere, so every month you put it off means missed tuition credits for you.  Start putting that money to work for you and your kids.

Using Scrip couldn’t be easier.  Families purchase gift cards for places where they plan to shop, and use those cards instead of cash or credit.  Holy Family School buys those gift cards at a discount.  We sell them to you for full face value and you redeem the cards for full face value.  The school keeps the difference as a rebate, earning a percentage of every dollar spent using the $crip gift cards.  This percentage is split 50/50 between the school and the family*.  As an added benefit, many $crip users find that they become smarter shoppers by using the gift cards and planning ahead for every purchase.

Currently, Scrip earns over $45,000, for Holy Family School and over $10,000, was sent to GRACE for tuition!!!

Scrip Example – It Adds Up Fast

You have from May 1st of this year until April 30th of the next year to meet this goal.  By simply planning ahead on everyday purchases like groceries, gas, restaurants, clothes, entertainment and home repair, the average family can earn approximately $10 a week.  That modest number adds up quickly!   Again, anything over $200.00 is credited towards your tuition.  Some families save 1-2 monthly tuition payments!!

At Kohl’s, the percentage is 5%. 1% goes to school and you bank the remaining 4%. So for every $100.00 gift card, you earn $4.00.

At Grand Central stations, the percentage is 10%. 1% goes to school and you bank the remaining 9%. So for every $100.00 gift card you earn $9.00.

$100/month at Kohl’s and $200/month at Grand Central Station adds up to $264 for you.

There are hundreds of retailers besides Kohl’s & Grand Central Station, including many online retailers. ScripNow! is fantastic for online purchases such as iTunes,, Lands End & Gap.

Scrip Requirement

Currently, the Scrip commitment is $200 profit earned per family, not total dollars in Scrip purchases.  If you do not purchase enough gift cards during the school year to generate $200 in proceeds, you will be responsible for the difference between what your purchases generate and $200. After your commitment is met, the dollars are credited to your tuition account for the next school year.
